Review of Meet the Benedettos by Katie Cotugno - Read & Cook With Joy Newsletter
Here’s what I just finished:
Meet the Benedettos might be too fluffy for some, but for me it was a fun frolic in La-La Land. Author Katie Cotugno surely used the Kardashians as her model for this family of five girls and their head-in-the-sand mom. However, this story goes in a completely different direction, as the Benedettos’s realty show only lasted three years, and now they are broke. The father has suffered a massive heart attack and now, the former “Meatball King” who made a fortune franchising his restaurants has now lost it all. He spends his days in his home gym while his empire spirals downward. Like his wife, he is in denial. Meanwhile, the sisters continue to live like princesses, and when they meet the new neighbors, love is in the air!

Here's what I’m reading next:
Marie-Jean is a matchmaker extraordinaire, yet she can’t seem to find her own soulmate. This novel is written by Nina George, who also wrote The Little Paris Bookshop. The Little Village of Booklovers is set in the south of France in the 1960’s. I’m hoping that Marie-Jean finds her own true love by the end of the story!
Here’s what I’m cooking:
As a nod to the Benedetto’s Italian heritage (after all, Mr. Benedetto IS the Meatball King!) I am offering up a simple Italian side dish that follows the theme of all of my recipes: it’s EASY and DELICIOUS! I’m calling it Benedetto veggies, as a nod to this wonderful family. Manga, manga!
